Background of the Study
Women’s political advocacy groups play a pivotal role in promoting gender equality and increasing women’s representation in political processes (Aminu & Salihu, 2023). In Kano Municipal Local Government Area, Kano State, women’s advocacy groups have been instrumental in raising awareness about the importance of women’s participation in politics and mobilizing support for female candidates (Abubakar & Ibrahim, 2024). These groups work to address challenges such as cultural biases, limited access to political resources, and lack of representation in decision-making positions (Tijjani & Mohammed, 2025). While their efforts have led to some progress, questions remain about the effectiveness of these advocacy groups in translating their efforts into tangible political outcomes for women. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of women’s political advocacy groups in Kano Municipal, focusing on their impact on increasing women’s political participation and representation.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Although women’s political advocacy groups in Kano Municipal have made significant strides in promoting women’s participation in politics, there are concerns about the tangible impact of their efforts (Umar & Jibril, 2023). Women continue to face substantial barriers to political engagement, such as limited access to funding, social stigma, and institutional resistance. This study seeks to evaluate how effective these advocacy groups have been in overcoming these barriers and achieving meaningful political participation for women in Kano Municipal.
1.3 Objectives of the Study

1.5 Research Hypothesis

1.7 Scope and Limitations of the Study
The study will focus on women’s political advocacy groups in Kano Municipal Local Government Area, Kano State, and their impact on political participation. Limitations include challenges in obtaining data from advocacy groups and the potential difficulty of measuring the long-term impact of advocacy efforts on electoral outcomes.
